Whether it’s family vacation or work, chances are you’re taking a trip somewhere this summer.  Packing a bag, forgetting something.

Which puts you, like I was recently, combing the aisles of a Walgreen’s to replace what your brain-too-full-of-details couldn’t remember.  In this case, facial cleanser.

Stroll down your drug store aisle and notice just how many personal cleaners now come in wipe form.  Diaper wipes, facial towelettes, feminine towelettes, hand sanitizing cloths, and more.

So I’m on a business trip with my co-worker, Joy, and we stop to pick up some replacement facial cleanser.  Joy heartily endorsed and sold me on some of her favorite Pond’s pre-moistened towelettes—to get that grimy makeup off your face when you’re dog-tired.  Right up my alley.

Yet, after about the third use, I noticed these wipes smelled exactly like the diaper wipes I used to clean the boys’ bottoms.  Same product, re-packaged at $3 more, I’ll bet.

Gross!

Effective, however; the makeup does indeed come off.  Scrub as I might, sin isn’t as easily removed.  What I really need is a diaper wipe for the heart before I go to bed.

Seen those for sale anywhere?

Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me (Psalm 51:10).  Amen and goodnight.
