Okay, ladies, Sunday is Father’s Day, and I am hijacking MomLife Today for a very important message.
No, I am not a woman or a blogger, but some of you may know me because I have been the subject of many a blog post, courtesy of my lovely bride, Tracey. Around our home, we often say, “That’s blog worthy,” so I am on to you people.
I decided I had something “blog worthy” to say — so listen up.
In normal male brevity, let me get straight to the point. The men in your lives (husbands, fathers, brothers, adult sons) need to get their hands on the book Stepping Up: A Call to Courageous Manhood. Here are just a few of the reasons why:
• Because the future men that God wants them to be takes intentionality
• Because there are a lot of grown men who are stuck behaving like boys
• Because deep down inside every man is the desire to live a courageous life, one that counts for something.
• Because a lot of men need to be challenged to step up and shown how to get there
• Because as the book points out, the only thing needed for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing
There you have it: the first (and hopefully not the last) male-centered MomLife Today blog post!
What Others are saying:
“Definitely in my top five books of all time. Wish I had this book as a teenager. It kicked my tail and yet was encouraging at the same time.” Mark
“Great book. Dennis has given us great encouragement in building into the lives our sons and other men. I plan to give away many copies and lead the men of our church in Stepping Up.” Rodney
“I shortsightedly got just one copy for my boys and when it came I started reading it. I thought it was great, even for women to read! Inspiring stories and a help for moms to encourage dads in the raising of sons. Now I’m ordering more copies for ALL the men in my life.” Linda
“I’ve been reading men’s ministry books for 18 years, from great ones like Steve Farrar, Chuck Swindoll, Stuart Scott down through the ages — this book by Dennis Rainey deserves to be put right along side the very best. Practical and thought provoking for all stages of life, you need to read this book. Not just for men, ladies need to read this book to really know how best to encourage….
