Moving? Emotional? Of Course.
This week on on FamilyLife Today author/speaker Susan Miller shares her insights on just what a woman goes through when she has to pick up and move a household and family. Her best selling book, After the Boxes are Unpacked has been read by this “mover” … twice!
As one who’s moved seven times, I can attest to the fact that it can be rough going.
As a matter of fact, you can hear me share the emotional toll moving takes in the life of a mom through my testimony on FamilyLife Today. I share the cold hard truth of the emotions you feel when you move away from the comfortable known and into the uncomfortable unknown.
Usually moms are good at making sure their children get acclimated and make connections, but as with most things in a mom’s life … we place our own emotional needs last.
Susan shares valuable, practical advice. I encourage you to listen and/or share the broadcast with friends and loved ones who may be experiencing, or about to experience, unpacking the boxes.
As an added bonus … FamilyLife is a ministry made up of mostly missionary staff, and as a result pretty much everyone here has come from someplace else. We wanted to give you some practical advice so we pooled our ideas to offer you some moving tips on how to successfully manage a move.
If you have some additional insights on moving we would appreciate you sharing with our readers!
