  1. This is so helpful in marriage-to keep learning new things about each other. GREAT QUESTIONS!

(BTW-I do this every time I have company….we all get a question to answer…makes for learning fun things about friends you’ve known for a long time or just fun to learn about new friends, too!)

Peaceable Living

During those early years as a mother of four, I found that just managing the daily parenting and basic household routines required discipline and strength that went beyond my natural abilities. My husband and I just celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary! It doesn’t seem that long ago. We told a friend’s little daughter that we were celebrating our 40th anniversary, and with wide eyes, she gasped in disbelief! It was fun. So the question some have asked, what makes marriage work? I was raised by a single mom. Continue »

Think Before You Say “No”

Why do marriage partners—even men—sometimes lose interest in sex? Personally, I think the main culprit is sheer exhaustion. Tiredness and lack of exercise kill the sex drive. We become so stressed out and bone-tired that all we want is time alone and time for blessed sleep. Incessant busyness is the plague of our contemporary lifestyle, and it is greatly damaging Continue »

Sunday Dinner

“Honey, will you ever be one of those Sunday dinner type of cooks?” A blank stare came across my face as these words escaped my husband’s mouth. I will admit that I am more of a “Sunday order out, heat up leftovers, and take a nap” type of cook. So I knew exactly what he Continue »
