Have you ever had someone else pray over you?
Maybe your parents prayed for you each day before you were born. Maybe someone in your community or church has prayed with you during a difficult time.

In the journey of motherhood, prayer can be a powerful lifeline that hold us and our families together, even when the world around us seems to be falling apart.
In this post, you’ll find a list of ideas, prayers and verses to pray over your kid all throughout every season of motherhood. Be sure to check back often as we are added more Mom Prayers all the time!

Back to School Prayer for Kids
A Prayer to Surround our Children
Lord, please surround my kids with friends and adults who point them toward You, and in ways that complement my own deficits in parenting.
“We who are strong have an obligation to bear with the failings of the weak, and not to please ourselves. Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, to build him up.For Christ did not please himself, but as it is written, “The reproaches of those who reproached you fell on me.” For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope. May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus, that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.” – Romans 15:1-7
Prayers for Protection
Father, Protect my child from influences that are not good.
“Do not be deceived: “Bad company ruins good morals.” – 1 Corinthians 15:33
Lord, I ask you to protect my kids: physically, emotionally, spiritually, mentally, and in every way.
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” – Psalm 46:1
A Prayer for Godly Friends
Father, I pray my child would know the joy of having godly friends.
“In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now”
Philippians 1:4-5 (NIV)
Godly Teachers
Lord, Because You ask us to present you with every request and anxiety, I humbly ask You for Godly friends, teachers, and school administration in the upcoming school year.
“One who is righteous is a guide to his neighbor, but the way of the wicked leads them astray.” – Proverbs 12:26
Be Alert
Lord, cause my kids to be wise, courageous, discerning and alert regarding evil.
“Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.” – Ephesians 5:15-17
Lord, Shape Our Children
Dear Father, You know the areas where my children are weak. Shape them this year in ways that could only reflect Your power working in and around them.
“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” – Ephesians 2:8-10
