christmas-family-togetherness

I know, I know it sounds “bah, hum bug” to say stop the holiday cheer… but that’s not exactly what I mean by that statement.

As moms we all get that the marketers are winding us up, wanting us to bounce all over town doing, doing, doing, buying, buying, buying to have the “perfect holiday” for our homes. We also get that those who know and love us best keep telling us to stop stressing out and slow down and enjoy CHRISTmas.

The question remains, “How do we slow down and enjoy CHRISTmas?”

I would like to suggest you consider something very basic that you might not have done for yourself in a very long time.

Tonight (yes, tonight) once everyone else is in bed fast asleep, sneak out of your bed, wrap yourself up in something comfortable, turn on the CHRISTmas tree lights, light the candles and snuggle up on the couch with your Bible.

There in the quiet stillness, turn to Luke 2:1-16 and soak in the birth of Jesus.

Spend some time lingering…just for you.

Peace.

I am guessing you, like me, can get lost in the doing and lose sight of the wonder that He did come…just for you.
