Teresa’s MOMent
(Editor’s Note: At times we feel led to share Mom Stories from moms who write to us. We ask that you would lift up a prayer for Teresa, and her family, after you read her words below.)
Single mom… I never thought I would be a single mom. I never thought I would be divorced. I never thought my beloved would find love elsewhere. But, that is where I sit.
I am raising my two kids (5 and 7) and my niece (15) alone. My children’s father is not consistent in visitation and will be moving to another state for 3 years for training (he just graduated medical school and has residency).
At times, the task before me seems terrifying. I don’t anticipate their father ever being truly engaged in their lives. But, then I think of Timothy. When his spiritual heritage is described, it is his mother and grandmother who are listed. That encourages me to know that God will fill the gap left in my children’s lives.

I went to MomLife Boot Camp this Spring and I am so glad I did! I was reminded that God placed me in my children’s lives for a purpose. I am enough to do what God planned for me… and I know He that is in me is greater than he that is in the world.
So, as I look forward to this parenting journey as a single mom, I thank God for the provision He has already made and the blessings that lie ahead.
Will I remarry? I don’t know. But, I do know that God is able to do far more than I ever imagine and he is the King of redemptive stories!
