My Hubby, My Hero
My husband is my hero. I have many reasons, but today his hero stock shot way up. I found a terrible mess in the garage. I’m not going to tell you what, but I’ll tell you that I was too chicken to go near it. Like a champion, my husband rose to the occasion. Armed with gloves and large garbage bags, he went to work. Whew!
I peeked out the garage door and grinned at him. “You know you’re my hero, right?”
He laughed and rolled his eyes, but I think he appreciated hearing it. I realized I don’t tell him that enough.
Husbands need to hear that from their wives. So often, the outside world beats them down. Men want to feel successful, right? So, it’s our job, no privilege, as wives to build them back up. Try it. Let me know how it goes.
What a lovely reminder. We often treat those near and dear to us as sounding boards, forgetting that we all need a little love.
And as The Beatles said, "the love you give is equal to the love you get."
I'm regularly calling my hubby my superman. 🙂 I've even tried to get the kids in on this when on Father's Day, we wrapped his gift in Super Dad paper and made him "Super Eggs" that would give him enough energy to play with them all day. 🙂
My hubby IS my hero and we are raising our boys to be that same kind of MAN! I love hearing my honey talk to them about being a gentleman and a protector. I personally think their wives are gonna be some really lucky gals 😉
God bless,
Sallie
